Early Keyboard (EKBD)
EKBD 1101. Secondary Performances-Early Keyboard. 1 Hour.
Students study techniques and musicality related to early keyboard in weekly individualized private instruction. Students admitted as a Early Keyboard primary are not permitted to take this course.
Prerequisite: Must be a music major with a different applied instrument concentration, or by instructor permission.
EKBD 1201. Individual Performance-Early Keyboard. 2 Hours.
The course consists of individualized private instruction on early keyboard instruments, especially harpsichord and fortepiano. Instruction focuses on technique and musicality. Students also attend a weekly studio class that gives them the opportunity to perform for fellow students.
Prerequisite: Instructor approval.
EKBD 3201. Individual Performance-Early Keyboard. 2 Hours.
The advanced course consists of individualized private instruction on early keyboard instruments, especially harpsichord and fortepiano.Instruction focuses on technique and musicality. Students also attend a weekly studio class that gives them the opportunity to perform for fellow students.
Prerequisite: Student must have passed a sophmore barrier jury.
EKBD 3202. Early Keyboard with Junior Recital. 2 Hours.
The advanced course consists of individualized private instruction on early keyboard instruments, especially harpsichord and fortepiano. Instruction focuses on technique and musicality. Students also attend a weekly studio class that gives them the opportunity to perform for fellow students, and perform a culminating recital.
Prerequisite: Instructor approval.
