Master of Science in Project Management
The Master of Science in Project Management program is designed for professionals who lead and manage projects across diverse industries and organizational settings. In today’s fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, these leaders face the challenge of delivering innovative products and services efficiently and effectively.
This program equips students with a comprehensive set of competencies—including advanced knowledge, practical skills, and strategic insights—essential for managing the entire project life cycle, from concept and design to delivery and revenue realization. Students will also gain proficiency in utilizing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to meet complex project demands.
The Master in Science in Project Management is a Global Accreditation Center (GAC) accredited 30-credit hour graduate program that can be completed fully online, offering flexibility for working professionals seeking to advance their careers.

Applicants seeking admission to the Master of Science in Project Management program must:
- Complete the online graduate application form.
- Pay the application fee.
Additionally, applicants must submit the following material directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions:
- Official transcript(s) from all previous college work (except SHSU graduates).
- An official GMAT score. Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher from a U. S. institution allows for a comprehensive review of academic performance and consideration for a GMAT waiver.
- A current resume.

Admission Criteria
- Meet or exceed the following admission formula:
- 200 (Undergraduate GPA) + GMAT Score >= 10501
- Additional Requirements (Applicants with Bachelor's Degree from Outside the U.S.)
- Official GMAT score of at least 500.
- TOEFL score of at least 79, IELTS score of at least 6.5, or Duolingo EPT score of at least 105.
- English translation and evaluation of Official transcripts.
- GMAT Waiver Requests
- Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher allows for an automatic comprehensive review of academic performance and consideration for a GMAT waiver.
- Three (3) years significant managerial and professional experience allows for consideration for a GMAT waiver2. The student may request this waiver by emailing busgrad@shsu.edu
- Applicants who have an undergraduate degree granted by a non-U.S. institution will be considered for a GMAT waiver.

The Undergraduate GPA is the GPA from courses taken at the degree granting institution. Transfer grades are not used in the computation.

SCMG 5395 is the capstone course that satisfies the comprehensive exam requirement. A grade of B or better is required for graduation.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) marketable skills initiative is part of the state’s 60x30TX plan and was designed to help students articulate their skills to employers. Marketable skills are those skills valued by employers and/or graduate programs that can be applied in a variety of work or education settings and may include interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skill areas.
The MS in Project Management is designed to provide graduates with the following marketable skills:
