SOCI 4337. Environment And Society. 3 Hours.

Students examine the environment as a social and cultural issue. Topics may include an overview of the field of environmental sociology, traditional sociological perspectives on environmental issues, paradigmatic implications of environmental sociology, the development of environmental movement, the rise of environmental deterioration, public attitudes toward environmental issues, national environmental policies, and social impact assessment. This course equips students with essential skills that directly translate into many industries (e.g., interpersonal communication, navigating complex social relationships. etc.).
Prerequisite: SOCI 1301 or SOCI 2319.
