Bachelor of Business Administration, Major in International Business
Each BBA degree consists of:
- the University Core Curriculum
- the Business Core 1
- courses required for the major
- a speech communications course (BUAD 2321 or COMS 2382) that also satisfies a University core requirement
- a computer literacy course (BUAD 1305 or CSTE 1330)
- elective(s)
Note: Transfer students must take at least 50% of the required business curriculum for the BBA in residence at Sam Houston State University, which may include courses taken at The Woodlands Center campus or through SHSU Online.

Students majoring in International Business will automatically satisfy the requirements to earn a minor in Economics. There are enough electives (12 credit hours) in the International Business program to allow a student to earn a second minor offered through the College of Business Administration without adding additional hours to the program, if the student so desires. Note: A minor in a supporting business field or a foreign language is strongly recommended. A minor in most supporting business fields can be accomplished by using the available elective hours. Employment opportunities in International Business are likely to be enhanced with foreign language skills. Students who have high school credits in a foreign language or who have otherwise developed a foreign language proficiency are encouraged to participate in the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Acceptable scores on the CLEP examinations will allow students to earn up to 14 hours of foreign language credits in French, German, or Spanish.
