Master of Education in Instructional Technology
Program Description
The Master of Education in Instructional Technology is designed for individuals who wish to learn more about the use of instructional technology in the workplace. This program blends coursework in Curriculum and Instruction and Computer Science to promote a strong working knowledge of digital-age learning environments. The degree requires thirty hours of graduate credit.
The Culminating Research Project for this program allows the candidate to demonstrate the knowledge and skills required of an instructional designer. During the last two semesters of the program, candidates research, design, evaluate, and implement an online training course while showing mastery of integrated objectives for both the Computer Science and the Curriculum and Instruction courses. The candidate’s overall experience in this process is captured in the form of a case study and presented in the format of a publishable paper/article, to be submitted to a conference/journal of the candidate’s choosing.
Admissions
Applicants seeking admission to the MEd in Instructional Technology must submit the following directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions:
- Graduate Application
- Application fee
- Official transcript from the baccalaureate degree granting institution
Additionally, a technology proficiency assessment must be submitted to the program adviser.
