Students examine the legal foundations, landmark cases, and current issues in special education, with an emphasis on current legal requirements, regulations, ethical considerations, and their implications for school practice. Students may explore topics including special education law, consultation and collaboration, special considerations in the evaluation of students with disabilities, and research-based best practices in special education.
