Students learn the facets and functions of the justice system, interrrelated sub-systems, the processing of offenders, punishment and its alternatives, and the future of the criminal justice system. Police, courts, and corrections are emphasized, which may include decision-making of justice system personnel, effectiveness of criminal justice policies, and the role of research.
