COUN 3331. Introduction to Principles Of Counseling. 3 Hours.
Students discuss and demonstrate comprehension of the counseling profession including professional issues, ethics, history, credentialing, professional associations, and various roles and settings counselors work within. Students demonstrate knowledge professional counseling identity, the value of the counseling relationship, and theoretical frameworks used to conceptualize the relationship. Students engage in a service-learning project related to helping professions and settings.
