CLIN 7412. Acting Internship – Internal Medicine. 4 Hours.
work as an intern on an Internal Medicine inpatient medical ward team to provide care for hospitalized patients with serious illness. The experience may include inpatient admissions and/or consultations and some intensive care. Students collect and report a complete patient history and physical exam, order and interpret laboratory data and other studies, clinically reason and develop independently a differential diagnosis, present new and existing patients during hospital rounds to upper level house officers and attending physicians, work with a medical team to generate a plan for management of hospitalized patients, work in a medical team environment to perform daily duties, and behave professionally as a part of the medical team.
Prerequisite: CLIN 7402.
