CLIN 7090. Surgical Anatomy and Skills. 1-4 Hours.

Students refine their dissecting and suturing skills while also deepening their understanding of surgical anatomy. Students perform a literature search on anatomical factors related to surgery or trauma in an assigned physical region (head and neck, hand and forearm, or abdomen and pelvis) and perform a detailed cadaver dissection of that region. Students practice suturing simulated wounds on the cadaver. The clerkship is offered only in January of each year and is limited to six students. Credit: Variable, maximum 4 hours.
Prerequisite: CLIN 7802.
