ANSC 4398. Animal Diseases & Public Health. 3 Hours.
Students study the fundamental principles behind zoonotic diseases, including modes of transmission, and methods of control and prevention to protect human and animal health. Students will explore infectious agents and the clinical signs they cause in both humans and animals. The course will focus on diseases of public health significance, strategies for identification, surveillance, and control and the importance of health professionals in preventing zoonoses. Prerequisite: Junior standing and a grade of C or better in ANSC 1319.
