CIME 3374. Human Growth & Learning. 3 Hours.

Candidates examine human growth and learning with an emphasis in the middle grades environment. Major theories of the teaching-learning process are studied and human development related to middle level education is emphasized. Required for 4-8 certification.
Prerequisite: Junior status.

1 MATH 1384 satisfies the requirement for Component Area II (Mathematics) and the major. 2 To satisfy the Core Curriculum requirement for Component Area III (Life and Physical Science),  BIOL 1408  is suggested.   3 BIOL 1436 satisfies the requirement for Component Area III (Life and Physical Science) and the major. 4 To satisfy the Core Curriculum requirement for Component Area V (Creative Arts),  CAMX 2301  is suggested. 5 To satisfy the Core Curriculum requirement for Component Area VIII (Social and Behavorial Sciences),  GEOG 1300  or  BESL 2301  is suggested. 6 ECON 1100 satisfies the Core Curriculum requirement for Component Area IX (Component Area Option) and the major. 7 ENGL 2332 OR ENGL 2333 satisfies the Core Curriculum requirement for Component Area IV (Language, Philosophy, and Culture) as well as the major. 8 BESL 3301 is the prerequisite for TESL 3313 . 9 SPED 2301 is the prerequisite for SPED 3301 . 10 TESL 3313 is the prerequisite for TESL 4314 . 11 A minor is not required for this degree program; however, a student has the option to add a minor, but to do so, additional semester credit hours may be needed above the degree program’s stated total semester credit hours. 12 All minors can be paired with this degree program.
