Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership

This degree is designed specifically for the candidate who wishes to work in a leadership position that does not require principal certification. These leadership positions typically include positions in educational organizations. This Masters of Arts degree emphasizes research. Candidates participating in this degree program will complete a Thesis as part of the requirements for graduation. This degree requires completion of thirty hours of graduate credit. A comprehensive examination is required during the final semester of coursework. The degree plan originates in the Department of Educational Leadership.

Candidates seeking admission to a graduate program in the Department of Educational Leadership  must meet the basic requirements of Graduate Admissions specified in the Admission section of this catalog. Please, contact the Department of Educational Leadership for additional requirements: (936) 294-1147.

  1. Graduate Admissions Application
  2. Application Fee
  3. Official transcript from the baccalaureate degree granting institution
  4. Admission preference given to individuals with a GPA of 3.0 and higher within the last 60 hours
  5. One Reference Form from a supervisor
  6. Personal Essay
  7. Submit a work sample of a research paper
  8. Optional: Official GRE scores
